john george banner was born in nottingham and lived in hucknall all his life.
he was married to my mum patricia anne banner who passed in march 07.
my dad was the oldest of 3 children he had a sister pamela and brother named kieth.
my dad attended the holgate school throughout his school life and then joined the army which he was in the green jackets and served all over the country, living in places like germany, malaysia, and so on..
he then left the army and worked as a coal delivery driver for leapers coal merchants he actually died whilst delivering coal for them he suffered a massive heart attack and died instantly at the age of 42.
my dad had 3 children and one step daughter, i am the youngest, my brother john is the middle child and my sister paula who is the oldest of my dads 3, then the oldest out of us all is debbie who belongs to my mum and her first husband malc lee, but my dad treated her as his own, because thats what he was like he was a very gentle and kind person who got along with everyone.
he had 9 grandchildren of whom he only ever met 3, he also had 5 great grandchildren of whom he never met.
but we all still sit and chat about dad and the kids loving hearing all the stories of their grandad and wish they could of met him to have a ride in his coal wagon as he would of called it.
everyone that knew my dad loved him and said he was a very quiet person and some of his ex army friends came along to his funeral one even drove down from winchester with a bad leg to show his respects.
i did find it hard growing up without a dad and did think it was unfair that he was took from us at such an early age, but my mum brought us up the very best she could as it was hard for my mum losing her husband.
our dad and grandad was the best ever and no one will ever replace him in our hearts where he is kept by all of usxxx
rip dad and look after mum for usxxxx

Three little words
Forget me not
They don't say much
But mean a lot
Forget you not
we never will
Cos in our hearts
We love you still
